LOCATION

Island View Apartment is just over 10 miles from Portree and 10 miles from Dunvegan. It is situated 2 miles from the village of Edinbane where there is a petrol station, pottery and 2 hotels offering meals, live music and ceilidhs most nights during the tourist season. Sligachan Bridge & Cuillin mountains photo © Gordon C. Harrison	Skye is the most northerly and largest island of the Inner Hebrides. It boasts dramatic mountainous scenery covering 2700 square kilometres. The Cuillin mountains are particularly well-known for hiking and climbing. There is a large Gaelic-speaking population on Skye.

How to reach Skye Eilean Donan Castle photo © Gordon C. Harrison

By road via the Skye Bridge between Kyle of Lochalsh and Kyleakin. This route allows for a stop at picturesque Eilean Donan Castle. By the Caledonian MacBrayne vehicle ferry which operates between the fishing port of Mallaig (at the end of the scenic Road to the Isles) and Armadale (southern Skye). By the smaller private ferry from Glenelg to Kylerhea (southern Skye) which operates from May to October only.
